About Mt Hood Forest Products LLC

Mt Hood Forest Products LLC is a sawmill in Hood River, Oregon, that also buys timber. It runs on the mill side as well, turning logs into lumber, which tells you where wood from a sale on your land might end up. The company describes itself as "a state of the art producer of high quality green douglas fir 2X4 and 2X6 dimension lumber," so douglas fir is the species they work with. They serve Hood River County, and they buy logs directly as well as milling them, which can matter if you are weighing a standing timber sale against having logs hauled to a buyer. There is no stated minimum acreage or tract size for a job with this business. Nothing is said about credentials, how long the company has been operating, or the steps a sale or logging job follows from start to finish, so if those details matter to you, it is worth asking directly. The office number given is 509 427-4222, and the Hood River address is 4865 Highway 35. This fits a landowner with douglas fir in Hood River County who wants to deal with an outfit that both buys logs and runs its own mill, rather than a broker who hires the work out.
