About A.M. Logging
A.M. Logging, LLC is based in Millheim, Pennsylvania, and works as a logging contractor and timber buyer serving landowners across the state, with work named in Centre County. They describe themselves as "a fully mechanized operation offering a broad range of services, including land clearing, timber harvesting, chipping and grinding." Their timber harvesting covers thinning, shelterwood, clear cutting, seed tree cutting, crop tree release, and timber stand improvements. They also do land clearing, flail and whole tree chipping, and grinding, and they sell wholesale and residential mulch. Products coming off a harvest include logs, pulpwood, flail chips, whole tree chips, animal bedding, mulch, biomass fuel, and compost, so wood from a job gets used rather than left behind. On how a sale works, they explain it this way: they start by asking questions to understand a landowner's goals, then recommend a prescription for the stand. Once there's a verbal agreement on payout, they put together a written timber harvesting agreement spelling out the details of harvesting and payout, meant to protect both sides. A.M. Logging was named the FRA 2022 Appalachian Region Outstanding Logger and its crew has gone through Sustainable Forestry Initiative training. Their main address is in Millheim, with a separate residential mulch location in Lewisburg. This fits a Pennsylvania landowner who wants one outfit to handle the harvest, haul the wood, and also take any clearing or mulch needs off their hands at the same time.
