Alben Sawmill LLC
About Alben Sawmill LLC
Alben Sawmill LLC is a small family sawmill in Portersville, Pennsylvania. They saw logs into lumber, run it through their kiln, plane it, and size it to order. They work in oak, maple, cherry, walnut, and hickory, and they also make, install, and finish hardwood flooring. This isn't a business built around standing timber sales off your land in the usual sense. They buy logs directly, and they say "we purchase small quantities of custom cut hardwoods directly from nearby logging companies." Their lumber comes from within 30 miles of the sawmill, and they sell on to local woodworkers, cabinet makers, flooring companies, and furniture builders. They serve Butler County. They've been a family business since 1982, so this is a long-running operation, not a new outfit. There's no stated minimum acreage, and no minimum job size shown either, since they describe themselves as working in "small quantities" of custom cut hardwood. This one fits a landowner who has a handful of good hardwood logs, maybe from a single tree or a small lot, and wants them milled into lumber or flooring rather than selling a whole stand of standing timber.
