Pee Dee Woodbutchers
About Pee Dee Woodbutchers
Pee Dee Woodbutchers is a sawmill operator in Florence, South Carolina, running a portable sawmill service. The mill comes to you. As the business puts it, "We bring the sawmill to the logs and cut them into lumber," so your logs get sawn into lumber on your land rather than hauled to a fixed mill. The operator says the aim is low impact logging combined with simplified sawmill production. Unlike big sawmills that buy logs and cut whatever earns the most, Pee Dee Woodbutchers says it cuts logs to make the most for the client. Several things set the cost of a job: how many logs and what kind, whether the logs are clean, whether limbs are cut flush with the log, how far the mill has to move to reach them, what lumber you want, and how much you can help provide. Travel is free within 20 miles of Florence. Beyond that, there is a charge that depends on distance and how long the job takes. The business mostly works in the Pee Dee region of NC and SC, and the farthest job so far has reached Furman University to the west, Charlotte to the north, and Charleston to the south. The address is 1110 State Rd S-21-949, Florence, SC 29501, and the phone is (843) 252-0849. This suits a landowner who has logs on the ground near Florence and wants them cut into lumber at the place where they lie. From peedeewoodbutchers.com, read 16 October 2026.
