About Virginia Carolina Forest Products
Virginia Carolina Forest Products is a sawmill in Lawrenceville, Virginia, in Brunswick County. It is a family owned and operated lumber company that saws hardwood and pine lumber. Owen M. Strickler, III, the president, started the operation in 1991 when he bought the sawmill from Ezell Lumber Company. The phone number is 434-848-3067. The mill has grown since then. Lumber output went from 7 million board feet in 1991 to about 10 million board feet of hardwood kiln dried lumber and 12 million board feet of surfaced yellow pine today. Strickler has more than 35 years in the forest products industry. The plant is about 25 miles from interstates 85 and 95 and 100 miles from the port of Norfolk. The company has more than 10 years of export shipments behind it, handling orders for lumber and veneer quality logs. It is a member of the Hardwood Manufacturers Association, the Virginia Forest Products Association and the American Hardwood Export Council. This business suits a landowner whose trees are hardwood or pine and who wants a family run sawmill near the port that handles both domestic lumber and export orders.
