About Madison Wood Preservers Inc
Madison Wood Preservers Inc is a wood treating plant at 216 Oak Park Road in Madison, Virginia. It treats pine lumber under pressure and sells the finished product, so it is listed as a mill. It is a buyer of treated lumber, not of logs or standing trees. The main species is southern yellow pine. Its treated lumber comes in 2x4 to 2x12 boards from 8 to 20 feet long, plus 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 timbers. It also makes pressure treated fence posts, cut to 7, 8 and 10 feet, from 3 inches to over 8 inches across. Its #1 Dry Select pine is "dried after treatment" to 19 percent moisture content in dry kilns, so it can be painted or stained without a long wait. Sales go through stocking retail distributors. The business says it does not sell directly to homeowners or contractors. It does not buy standing timber, offer timber sales, or provide logging or harvesting. Its market is mainly the North East region of the United States. It has over 73 employees, and the office is open 7:30 to 5:00 Monday to Thursday and 7:30 to 4:00 on Friday. It suits a landowner who wants to buy treated lumber or fence posts, or who wants to know where that product is made. It does not suit someone who needs help selling, cutting or managing their trees.
