About Ball Lumber Co
Ball Lumber Co is a sawmill in Millers Tavern, Virginia, in Caroline County. It makes and sells lumber for pallet manufacturers, building material suppliers, and treaters who add preservatives to wood for commercial and residential use. The company calls itself "Family Owned and Operated Since 1946." John H. Ball started it in King and Queen County, and today three generations of the Ball family work at the mill with about 75 full-time employees. King and Queen is the county it lists as served. The mill offers wholesale and specialty lumber. Standard sizes run from 1x4 to 6x6, and it also cuts custom lengths and sizes. In its own words, "We will take the time to cut lengths and sizes that other mills won't." All of its lumber is graded and stamped with a seal of certification for quality. The mill can produce 53 different sizes and grades at once. The sawmill sits on 120 acres, and its kilns are fueled by sawdust, drying lumber at 200 degrees for 34 hours. It suits a landowner who wants a long-running Caroline County sawmill that sells graded lumber to manufacturers and treaters. The phone number is (804) 443-5555.
