About New River Hardwoods
New River Hardwoods is a hardwood sawmill business based in Mountain City. It works as an independent logger and also does tree services, forestry consulting and timber buying. The main office is on Highway 91 North in Mountain City. The work covers harvesting, timber cruising and appraisals, timberland management and log production. It takes on harvesting on tracts under 15 acres. It sells veneer, saw, rotary and peeler logs, and it works with hardwood. Its forestry group includes graduate foresters and forestry technicians. For a sale, the business writes a customized plan for each tract. The plan follows the landowner's stated goals and forestry practice on environmental compliance and stand improvement. Financial terms can also be tailored to the landowner. The forestry group takes enquiries about selling land, standing timber, saw logs or veneer logs at 423-727-4019. The company began lumber production in 1991 and now runs three sawmills, four satellite log yards, kiln drying and a millworks, with over 100 employees. It puts its approach this way: "Nothing Wasted. Everything Valued." The counties it serves are Bland, Bristol City, Buchanan, Dickenson, Grayson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise and Wythe. It suits a landowner with hardwood timber who wants a sawmill business to plan the cut around their own goals. From newriverhardwoods.com, read 3 October 2026.
