About Northland Forest Products Inc
Northland Forest Products Inc is a hardwood sawmill and lumber distributor in Troy, Virginia, in Albemarle County. It saws and kiln-dries hardwood lumber and sells it in the United States and in 26 countries. It works with lumber, not standing timber. It does not buy trees on the stump or do logging. The Troy yard handles white ash, basswood, yellow birch, cherry, hard and soft maple, red and white oak, yellow poplar, walnut and eastern white pine. Its work includes surfacing two sides, pulled and ripped to width strips, straight line and gang ripping, and color sorting. Its graders are NHLA certified, and the company has held FSC chain-of-custody certification since 1996. The business was founded in 1970 and traces its roots to the late 19th century. It describes itself as a family-run business, and it also has a yard in Kingston, New Hampshire. The Troy retail outlet is open on weekday and Saturday mornings, and appointments are not needed. It serves cabinetmakers, small shops and woodworkers looking for "kiln-dried Northern and Appalachian hardwoods." It suits a landowner looking for a sawmill and lumber seller, not a timber buyer or a logger. From northlandforest.com, read 8 October 2026.
