Northwest Land & Timber
About Northwest Land & Timber
Northwest Land & Timber is a veteran-owned timber and land company in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. It buys standing timber from landowners, handles the cutting, and sells the harvested wood. It also clears land, grades sites, builds gravel driveways, sets culverts, and grinds brush and unmarketable wood into mulch. The company has operated since 2021 and serves Surry County and the NC Triad. For timber work, the company takes on tracts of 15 acres or less. Its own site puts it plainly: "You don't need hundreds of acres to make your timber worth a conversation." Harvest methods include clear cutting, select cutting, planted pine thinning, and reforestation harvesting. Species include oak, hickory, walnut, poplar, maple, sweet gum, loblolly, shortleaf, and white pine. Walk-through estimates and timber evaluations are free and done on site. You receive an agreed percentage of the sale under a written agreement, and payments can run weekly, monthly, or at the end of the harvest. Trees you want kept can be marked and left standing. The crew holds Pro Logger certification, is a member of the NC Forestry Association, and is licensed and insured. Harvests follow state forestry guidelines for streamside buffers, crossings, and debris control. This suits a landowner with a modest stand of timber in or near Surry County who wants one owner-operated outfit to handle both the cutting and the site work that may follow. Call 336-929-0686.
