Teanaway Millworks
About Teanaway Millworks
Teanaway Millworks is a sawmill and log buyer in Cle Elum, Washington, working out of Kittitas county. They buy Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine logs from private and public land within the county, and they cut rough-sawn boards and beams, custom cut to match what you already have. The mill itself has history behind it. It was built piecemeal over 40 years by Ed Conner, and Teanaway Millworks took over running it in 2021, keeping the same carriage and head-saw. They also run a log lathe built by the Montgomery-Pogue family, useful for smaller diameter logs from forest thinning. They describe their logs as "strategically harvested by local foresters to minimize waste and maximize forest health." Visits for pick up or drop off are by appointment. This fits a Kittitas county landowner with Douglas Fir or Ponderosa Pine who wants a local mill buying logs directly, especially if some of that timber is smaller diameter wood from thinning rather than big sawlogs.
