About Forest Shepherd Inc. Lumber Milling, Kiln Drying, Specialty Lumber Sales & Custom Woodworking
Forest Shepherd Inc. Lumber Milling, Kiln Drying, Specialty Lumber Sales & Custom Woodworking is based in Monroe, Washington, and works mainly in Snohomish County. This is a sawmill operation, not a timber buyer or logging crew. They mill logs into live edge slabs and specialty or dimensional lumber, dry it on-site in a vacuum kiln, do custom milling to spec, and will bring a mobile mill to your site. They also do custom woodworking with the lumber they produce. The owner, Julian Iacobazzi, has worked with wood for years and has been a General Contractor for 25 years. He describes the logs they use as "locally sourced, salvaged, reclaimed, and ethically harvested," some coming from arborists and homeowners removing trees. Species mentioned are maples and cottonwoods. The business holds a Washington Contractor License (FORESSI836PE). There's no stated minimum acreage, so there's nothing to go by there in terms of a tract size policy or a smallest job on record. This fits a landowner who already has logs down, maybe from a storm, a removal, or clearing for a project, and wants them milled into usable lumber, dried, and possibly worked into something finished, rather than someone looking to sell standing timber.
