About Green Diamond Resource Co

Green Diamond Resource Co is a forest stewardship company that owns and manages working forests, buying and growing timber as well as logging and advising on forest management. Its main office is at 6400 Highway 66 in Klamath Falls, and it is listed in Mason County, Washington, where it serves as a timber buyer, independent logger, and forestry consultant. This is a family-owned company that has been "for six generations" managing forests across California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina. The species they work with include Douglas fir, larch, true firs, western red cedar, lodgepole and ponderosa pine, Loblolly pines, and giant redwood forests. Their work covers the full cycle: site preparation, seed collection, nursery operations and planting, pre-commercial and commercial thinning, chipping, grinding, hauling, and harvest and hauling. They describe their process as a "continuous cycle of harvesting and replanting," noting that growth cycles vary by species, with Loblolly pines maturing in up to 28 years and Douglas firs taking up to 50. All of their lands carry certification under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and they describe their approach as "responsible forest management guided by experience and backed by science," with attention to fire resilience and long-term forest health. There is no stated minimum acreage for timber sales or logging jobs. This fits a landowner whose land sits within a large managed timberland region and who wants a company built around long-term, large-scale forest ownership and stewardship rather than a one-time, small-parcel harvest.
