The Gorge Wood Company
About The Gorge Wood Company
The Gorge Wood Company is a sawmill in Danese, West Virginia. In their own words, "From log to workshop, we handle it all. We cut, dry, and sell high-quality wood." They cut, dry, and sell hardwood lumber, flooring, interior paneling and accent boards, and timber beams, working in Yellow Poplar, White Oak, Red Oak, Cherry, Black Walnut, Sweet Birch, Maple, and Hemlock. Beyond their own products they offer sawmill services for logs brought in, along with resawing, straightline rip, gang rip saw, and planing. They can custom-cut posts and beams up to 25 feet. The business started as a small sawmill under the name New River Farms Sawmill, turning local timber into usable lumber, and has grown since into the operation it is today. They serve Fayette County. This one suits a landowner who wants their own logs sawn into lumber or beams, or who wants kiln-dried hardwood and finished wood products rather than a standing timber sale.
