Frank E.Wilson Lumber inc is a sawmill and commercial lumber dealer in Elkins, West Virginia, in "the heart of the Appalachians." It serves Randolph County and ships hardwood lumber across West Virginia, the United States, and worldwide. This is not an outfit that walks your woods and marks timber for cutting. It's a mill: it works with logs and lumber, turning them into stock and specialty hardwood, then drying, surfacing, grading, and shipping it. Services include kiln drying, surfacing, straight line ripping, re-sawing, grading, tallies, separations, and packaging. Domestic stock species run Ash, Cherry, Red Oak, Poplar, Walnut, Hard Maple, Basswood, and White Oak, with imported African Mahogany, South American Mahogany, and Ipe available by special order. Lumber is graded by NHLA certified inspectors under NHLA grading rules, and shipped under the NHLA Sales Code. Individual bulk tallies are available, with net footage tallied at 7% kiln shrinkage added to the gross invoice, or a gross tally on request. The Wilson family started the business in 1960, and it remains, in their own words, a "six-generation family business" run locally out of Elkins. This fits a landowner who already has logs or rough lumber in hand and wants it dried, surfaced, graded, and shipped, rather than someone looking for a company to come buy standing timber off their acres.
