Woods Run Forest Products

About Woods Run Forest Products

Woods Run Forest Products is a sawmill in Colfax, Wisconsin, with treating and woodworking work on the side. It serves Dunn County. The mill takes in local northern pine logs and local timber, sawing it at its own two sawmills. Beyond sawmilling, it does treating services and chemicals, reload, reman, and custom sizing. It describes its work this way: "we harvest location pine plantations for our two sawmills on ten acres." From that, a sale here might start small, since ten acres is the smallest job shown on its pages. Products made from the sawn timber include construction poles, fencing, landscape timbers, and material for road and bridge construction. On landscape timbers, squared sizes run from 4x6 up to 8x8, plus a round timber sawed flat on two sides for a more rustic look, treated with Copper Azole. The business backs these with "a limited lifetime warranty on all our landscape timbers." It traces its goal back to 1978, aiming to produce lumber that fits the customer's needs, and has kept treating forest products for 40 years. This fits a landowner with a small pine stand in Dunn County who wants the logs milled into landscape timbers, fencing, or custom-sized lumber, rather than a straightforward stumpage sale.
