Deppeler Wood Shop

About Deppeler Wood Shop

Deppeler Wood Shop is a sawmill and lumber shop in Monroe, Wisconsin. They fill custom orders for hardwood lumber, either from what they have in stock or by buying and milling logs to match what you need. They carry Walnut, Ash, Cherry, Red Oak, White Oak, Hickory, and Maple, along with other species they don't always have on hand. They also build hay racks and bunk feeders, ready made or to your own specs. Most of their logs come from local, sustainably managed timber. If you're not sure what species or dimensions suit your project, they say their expertise can help you pick. They say they "specialize in filling custom orders for hardwood lumber at reasonable prices," and they welcome small jobs too, saying "we welcome hobby orders, too." That's worth knowing if you've only got a few trees down and aren't sure anyone will bother with a small amount of lumber. They're found in Green County and work out of their Monroe shop, open weekdays 7 to 4:30 and Saturday mornings. No tract size is named, but given how they talk about hobby orders and custom milling in small batches, this isn't a business built around big acreage sales. This fits a landowner who has logs already down, or just a few trees worth milling, and wants lumber cut to use rather than a full timber sale handled start to finish.
