Southern Forestry Consultants, INC is a forestry consulting firm with an office on Dixie Drive in Enterprise, Alabama. It started in 1988 in Bainbridge, Georgia, and works mainly in the Southeastern United States, naming Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and South Carolina. The county listed for its work is Coffee. Their listed services include timber sales, timber appraisal and land appraisal, plus site preparation by chemical or mechanical means. They also list prescribed burning, timber stand improvement, hand and machine tree planting, and wildlife and pond management. Other work includes herbicide application by air and by ground, pine straw harvesting, mowing and mulching, boundary line maintenance, and registered surveying. They also list fuel reduction around homes. When they sell timber, they act as your exclusive agent. They gather proposals through competitive bids and negotiations and keep watch on changing markets. Your acceptance of a proposal is finalized with a Timber Cutting Agreement, which they prepare and send to you for review. It sets the price, location and timber specifications. Every load is ticketed so the loads arriving at the mills can be matched against the loads leaving the cut. Payments, reports and summary sheets go to the landowner. In their words: "We are not employed by mills, loggers, or other associations." This firm suits a landowner near Enterprise or Coffee County who wants one consultant to handle the sale and the land work that follows. From soforest.com, read 17 October 2026.
