Timber Buyers & Forestry Professionals in Lafayette, AL

Valley Wood, Inc. is a timber buyer and independent logger based in LaFayette, Alabama, with its home office in Columbus, Georgia. It buys standing timber and says it pays top market prices in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. It also does forestry work, including timber management, timber appraisals, timber cruises, timber evaluations, forest management plans and timberland investment consulting. Its other jobs include site prep, forest road construction, controlled burning, wildlife habitat work, timber stand improvement, logging and timber hauling. Its named wood markets are paper pulp, chipwood and wood chips. It has run post mills and woodyards in several Georgia towns, and it says it has managed timberland since 1955. The business says its foresters are certified and calls them "certified, experienced foresters." It names affiliations with the Georgia Forestry Commission, the Alabama Forestry Association, the Tennessee Forestry Association, the South Carolina Forestry Association and the American Tree Farm System, among others. For a sale, it says landowners first talk through the harvest option that suits them, whether that is a thinning, a cut before a land sale or a full harvest. Then the company schedules the cut, and its foresters can manage replanting after a final harvest. The minimum is 20 acres, stated in the business's own words: "Whether you own 20 acres or 2,000 acres." This suits a landowner with at least 20 acres who wants a buyer for paper pulp or chip timber, or who wants forestry help with a thinning, a harvest or replanting anywhere in those five states.
