About Antoine Hardwoods Inc.
Antoine Hardwoods Inc. is a sawmill and chip mill in Antoine, Arkansas. Charles Ledbetter founded it in 1996, and it has been running since, turning hardwood and pine logs into chips, cants, crossties and rough sawn lumber. Most of what comes off the saw goes to paper mills, flooring manufacturers and railroad contractors in the area. From the leftovers of that milling work, Antoine Hardwoods also bundles firewood and makes smoking chips, chunks and cedar grilling planks, sold "straight from the mill" with no middle man. The state registry lists it under Small Tracts and Sawmill services, and notes a Master Logger certification. It's listed as serving Pike County. If you're a landowner with hardwood or pine timber to sell, this is a place that processes wood all the way through, from standing timber to finished cooking wood and lumber products, rather than just brokering a sale. It suits someone in or near Pike County who wants to deal with an outfit that mills what it buys and sells the byproducts too, not just a timber buyer passing logs along to someone else.
