About Mikeys Millworks
Mikeys Millworks is a woodworking shop in Franktown, Colorado, in Douglas County. It builds cabinets, built-ins, furniture, bookcases, shelves, trim, wardrobes and vanities, and it also repairs and updates existing pieces. Its main work is what it calls "primarily wood based products." It works with solid wood, exotics, veneers, plastics and metals, and the species it names are cherry, oak, walnut and mahogany. Mikeys Millworks does not buy standing timber, stumpage, tracts or logs from landowners. Its jobs start with a written statement of work covering product details, timelines, materials, site access and who makes decisions during each phase. Payment is generally 50 percent before work begins, with the rest due over delivery and installation. It is insured through The Hartford at $1,000,000, and the policy coverage is emailed to the client directly. About 98 percent of its finishes are water based. The shop also offers design consultation and can work with other trades for plumbing, electrical and framing. It suits a homeowner in Douglas County who wants a closet, pantry, vanity or set of cabinets built in cherry, oak, walnut or mahogany, not a landowner looking to sell trees.
