Studs Lumber Company
About Studs Lumber Company
Studs Lumber Company is a lumber yard at 29660 US 160 East in Durango, Colorado. It sells framing lumber, trusses, millwork, and doors and windows, mostly to builders and contractors. The business opened in 2014 and serves La Plata County. The founder, Russ Gartner, holds a forestry degree and had 20 years of lumber sales experience when he opened the yard. The yard carries mill rough pine, aspen T&G and blue stain pine, which it buys direct from the mills that produce them. Its studs are milled by Neiman Forest Products in Montrose, and the yard describes its millwork as locally harvested mill rough pine, bluestain and aspen T&G. It suits a Durango-area landowner who wants to know where local pine and aspen lumber goes after the mill, and who is looking for a lumber yard rather than a buyer for standing timber.
