About Gaston Mulch and Soil
Gaston Mulch & Soil sells bulk mulch, chips, topsoil and compost from 9333 NW 13th Street in Gainesville, describing itself as serving north central Florida. Its about page tells the business as one link in a family chain: Gaston's Tree Service started in north central Florida in the summer of 1972, and after a 1985 state mandate that vegetation could no longer be dumped into landfills, Gaston's Tree Debris Recycling began operations, starting the process of permitting what the page calls the first tree, yard and land clearing debris recycling centre in the state of Florida. The mulch, chips and soil that come out of that collected tree debris are what Gaston Mulch & Soil sells, which the page describes as completing a full circle and returning the recycled debris to the earth as valuable landscape materials. The company says it is still family-owned and operated. Featured products include red hardwood mulch, dyed pine mulch, playground chips and garden soil or topsoil, priced by the cubic yard with online ordering; mulch and chips are described as IPEMA certified playground safe, to be installed in accordance with the standards IPEMA publishes. Beyond landscape and garden customers, the firm says it supplies a number of landscape wholesalers and bagged potting mix and mulch providers, and that a bag of topsoil or mulch bought recently at a big box store, hardware store or nursery may well contain its material. Bulk pickup of any amount is offered at the facilities, with delivery options throughout the state, and the site invites calls for bulk orders and shipping from outside Gainesville, noting that whether the order is one yard or 500 it can be handled. A site banner adds that, until further notice, only one product is allowed per delivery. As described on gastonmulch.com, read 23 September 2026.
