This is the Marianna entry on the Florida Forest Service's forest products buyer list, where F & W Forestry Services registers for pinestraw, upland timber and wetland timber and names twenty-two Florida counties: the western panhandle from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa across Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Calhoun, Jackson, Gulf, Franklin and Liberty to Gadsden, Leon, Jefferson and Wakulla, with a separate northern and central block taking in Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Citrus, Brevard and Broward. The company's own website is a national corporate one that names no office locations at all, Florida's included; it says only that F&W's foresters are located throughout the United States, South America and Europe, and points visitors to a find-your-forester map. What it does set out is the firm behind the local contact. F&W says it was founded in 1962 by Eley Frazer and Frank Wetherbee, is headquartered in Albany, Georgia, and manages millions of acres of forestland worldwide. Its published timeline runs from regional inventories and forestland appraisals in the 1970s, through a decade in which the firm went from 25 employees in two states to 100 in eight, to work in Uruguay and Brazil and a Tree Farm Group certification in the 2000s, a stake in the French firm Cabinet Courdert in 2014, the acquisition of Fountains US and UK in 2016, and the FWS Forestry partnership with Stuntzner Engineering & Forestry in 2020. Eight service lines are published: timber sales, property management, field support services for TIMOs and REITs, forest inventory and mapping, forestland accounting, technical and analytical work, real estate and natural capital. On timber sales the firm describes pre-harvest valuations reporting species, age and condition, sale prescriptions and marketing to match timber to the best market, then on-site harvest supervision: harvest inspections and reporting, streamside management zone delineation, BMP compliance audits, timber marking, boundary re-marking, road maintenance oversight, drone monitoring, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment during property transactions.
