Quick answer
There are 111 timber buyers listed in Florida across 67 counties. Listings come from the Florida Forest Service forest products and services directory, covering consulting foresters and forest products buyers, together with the Forest Products Network mill directory and each one shows the counties it covers and the species it handles. TimberClear has not vetted, verified or endorsed any of them.
Listed with the Florida Forest Service as a forest management consultant, with storm debris cleanup, forestry mulching and brush cutting recorded against the name on the state register and fifteen Florida counties given as the service area. The company's own website describes something narrower than that register category suggests: a family-run land services contractor rather than a consulting forestry practice. Its site states that Double A Land Maintenance & Services "provides dependable forestry mulching, tree trimming, land clearing, brush cutting, and storm debris cleanup in Wauchula and throughout Central Florida", and the company calls itself "a small, family-owned business" that takes pride in "honest work, careful operation, and treating every property with the respect it deserves". The team is described as licensed and insured, though no licence number, class or issuing body is named. On mulching, the site says the process grinds unwanted growth into a natural mulch layer that stays on site instead of being hauled away, which the company says can limit erosion, support moisture retention and leave a more manageable surface; land clearing it describes as a complete site transformation that prepares ground for construction, development or access roads. The customers it names are homeowners, landowners, farmers and property managers, and the work is aimed at homesites, acreage, pastures, lots and storm-affected land. The counties the company lists for itself are fewer and more southerly than the register's fifteen, being Hardee, Polk, Hillsborough, Manatee, Desoto, Highlands, Osceola, Okeechobee and Charlotte, with Bartow, Lakeland, Sarasota, Sebring and Wauchula named as the towns. Estimates are free and given on site, and the company says it works on low overhead with competitive pricing, but no rate or figure of any kind is published. Nothing on the site describes timber cruising, appraisal, or representing a landowner in a timber sale. As described on aalandmaintenance.com, read 23 September 2026.
Listed with the Florida Forest Service as a forest management consultant across 67 Florida counties, with aerial and ground herbicide application, prescribed fire, planting services, a plant nursery and native seeding recorded on the register, and a Florida Certified Burner and Florida Licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator against the name. On its own site the business presents three divisions, ecosystem restoration, environmental services and property management, and industrial support. It says it was "founded in 2005 by a small team of professionals dedicated to providing our customers quality products in Ecosystem Restoration", with staff who "bring over 100 years of combined experience". Its customers, the company says, "range from small private businesses to large industrial clients", among them state and federal agencies, large infrastructure companies, energy supply and delivery companies and the mining industry; the project it features is erosion control within the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan. That erosion-control work is described in terms of silt fence, floc logs, granular soil products, coconut matting, hydroseeding and sodding. Brush removal and mastication are offered for cases where heavy equipment or a prescribed burn is not an option, using rubber-track, rubber-tyre and steel-track carriers and an excavator-mounted brush cutter. Alongside those sit commercial mowing, landscaping and irrigation, bush hog and tractor work, earthwork, excavation and hauling, fencing, pump and pipe crews, and labour crews for plant and field work. On job size the site claims range rather than a floor: "whether your project is one acre or a thousand". Credentials are published against named staff rather than the company, among them FDACS licensed pesticide applicators, a DOF prescribed burn manager, an FDEP qualified stormwater inspector, FFWCC gopher tortoise authorised agents, MSHA Part 48 instructors and an FAA UAS pilot, and the firm says it maintains corporate compliance with MSHA, OSHA and EPA regulations. Nothing on the site describes timber sales, cruising or forest management plans. As described on gliearth.com, read 23 September 2026.
Natives of Corkscrew Nursery + Environmental is a native-plant nursery and environmental contractor in Lee County, listed here from the Florida Forest Service vendor database, where it appears among forest management consultants across fourteen Florida counties. Its own site describes two halves to the business. On the nursery side it says that since 2015 it has grown to be one of the largest all-native nurseries in Florida, specializing in native plants, grasses, shrubs and trees, and in locally grown trees, shrubs and flowers — especially flowers that attract butterflies, which it notes are chosen deliberately to bring pollinators into an outdoor space. Its published nursery services are an extensive native species inventory, expert knowledge of Florida native plants, help selecting species for a landscape project, prompt statewide delivery, and contract growing, which the site explains lets a project's plant needs be fulfilled to specification and on budget when planned ahead. The environmental half offers environmental preserve restoration, with a stated specialty in lake restoration, lake enhancement, littoral shelf maintenance and protected species management; gopher tortoise work is named as the primary focus, and relocating gopher tortoises as one of its specialties. Its environmental services list covers FDEP wetland and upland determinations, exotic vegetation removal and maintenance, preserve and lake monitoring, gopher tortoise and burrowing owl surveys with FWC permitting, and licensed mangrove trimming. The company states it is licensed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to perform burrowing owl permitting, and that it serves individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies. The nursery keeps posted hours Tuesday through Saturday, Monday by appointment. As described on nativesofcorkscrew.com, read 23 September 2026.
Panhandle Forestry Services, Inc. is a natural resource management company that provides professional forestry and wildlife management services for both private and corporate landowners in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. It was founded in November 2000 by David Morris and Barry McGaughey, both professional foresters who had worked for large industrial paper mills and sawmills, and the first office opened in Chipley with Cheryl Martin as controller and office manager. The published service list covers forest management plans, forest inventory, timber type maps, GIS and soil mapping, cost and income analysis, timber sales, reforestation and tree planting, prescribed burning, herbicide and fertilization applications, mechanical site preparation, mulching, road maintenance, wildlife management plans, timber harvesting and hurricane damage cleanup. In 2007 the founders partnered with Dwayne Taylor of D&S Logging to form Chipola Timber Harvesting, Inc., the company owned logging arm, whose crew foremen are described as master logger certified in Florida and trained in the state's best management practices, and which handles work from the first thinning of young pine plantations to the clear cut harvest of mature stands. The company states that in 2022 it harvested and delivered over 1.1 million tons of timber and reforested more than 2,500 acres for private non-industrial landowners. As described on panhandleforestry.net, read 22 September 2026.
TerraWorx Land Group, Inc (TLG) describes itself as "a multi-disciplinary company whose staff has been offering our clients a multitude of ecological, environmental, land management and property services for over 25 years," adding that "Paramount is our ability to provide creative and innovative ideas in an effort to resolve a myriad of issues, design challenges, and regulatory concerns that our clients often encounter." The home page carries the line "Other's will tell you what you can't do, We tell you what you can." Its services page groups the work under three headings. Ecological services: preliminary ecological assessments including GIS and LIDAR evaluations, wetland assessment and delineation, protected species assessment and surveys, regulatory permitting covering both State Environmental Resource Permitting and Federal 404 wetland permitting, wetland mitigation bank design, permitting and management, mitigation design and planting, invasive species control, and "project design alternatives to maximize site use while minimizing mitigation/construction costs." Environmental services: Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II ESAs and testing, environmental remediation and clean-up, brownfields and incentive programs, and development design alternatives. Land management services: "heavy under brushing utilizing skid steer mounted grinding head mowers," herbicide application, removal of invasives such as Chinese tallow and Brazilian pepper, installation of native plant material for habitat restoration, timber management and planning, wildlife habitat design and management, and Natural Resource Conservation Service grant programs. Its image gallery, captioned as "some of our highlighted services," shows before-and-after mowing and prescribed burning. The only geography the company publishes is two offices — 88 Riberia St. Suite 360, St. Augustine, FL 32084 and 110N Gross Rd, Kingsland, GA 31548 — with no service area, counties or radius named anywhere; the home page is titled "Environmental Consulting | TerraWorx Land Group | United States." No founding year is given (the "over 25 years" is a staff-experience claim), no staff member is named, no certification or licence number appears, and no minimum tract size is published. Nothing on the site says the company buys standing timber: "timber management and planning" is one line among roughly twenty. This listing sits under forestry consultants; the company presents itself first as an ecological and environmental consultancy and a land-clearing and mitigation contractor, so it should not be read as a timber-side forestry practice. Cooper Timber Harvesting, Inc is a logging company in Arcadia, Florida. It works with individual landowners to clear unwanted trees from their property and deliver the wood to local timber mills. It buys and harvests pine, cypress, and eucalyptus timber, and it also buys standing trees of those species. It offers removal of melaleuca and other non-native trees, though it cuts and removes melaleuca without buying it. Whole tree chipping, grinding, and land clearing are also available. Wayne R. and Essie E. Cooper started the business in 1978 and have over 50 years of experience in the timber industry. The company is licensed, certified, and insured. All supervisors are Master Logger Certified and BMP trained. It is a current long-term member of the Florida Forestry Association and the Southeastern Wood Producers Association. Wayne was chosen Master Logger of the year for Florida in 2006. A Mack 10 wheeler with a loader picks up cut timber from small job sites, homesites, and construction sites. That pickup is free once a minimum amount of logs is reached. Below that minimum, a small fee covers fuel and labor. The business keeps a "clear line of communication" with the landowner so operations go smoothly. Counties served are Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota. It suits a landowner in one of those counties with pine, cypress, or eucalyptus to sell or clear, or with melaleuca to get rid of. From coopertimberfl.com, read 18 October 2026.
This is the Marianna entry on the Florida Forest Service's forest products buyer list, where F & W Forestry Services registers for pinestraw, upland timber and wetland timber and names twenty-two Florida counties: the western panhandle from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa across Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Calhoun, Jackson, Gulf, Franklin and Liberty to Gadsden, Leon, Jefferson and Wakulla, with a separate northern and central block taking in Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Citrus, Brevard and Broward. The company's own website is a national corporate one that names no office locations at all, Florida's included; it says only that F&W's foresters are located throughout the United States, South America and Europe, and points visitors to a find-your-forester map. What it does set out is the firm behind the local contact. F&W says it was founded in 1962 by Eley Frazer and Frank Wetherbee, is headquartered in Albany, Georgia, and manages millions of acres of forestland worldwide. Its published timeline runs from regional inventories and forestland appraisals in the 1970s, through a decade in which the firm went from 25 employees in two states to 100 in eight, to work in Uruguay and Brazil and a Tree Farm Group certification in the 2000s, a stake in the French firm Cabinet Courdert in 2014, the acquisition of Fountains US and UK in 2016, and the FWS Forestry partnership with Stuntzner Engineering & Forestry in 2020. Eight service lines are published: timber sales, property management, field support services for TIMOs and REITs, forest inventory and mapping, forestland accounting, technical and analytical work, real estate and natural capital. On timber sales the firm describes pre-harvest valuations reporting species, age and condition, sale prescriptions and marketing to match timber to the best market, then on-site harvest supervision: harvest inspections and reporting, streamside management zone delineation, BMP compliance audits, timber marking, boundary re-marking, road maintenance oversight, drone monitoring, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment during property transactions. None of it is written about the Marianna office in particular. As described on fwforestry.com, read 23 September 2026.
Gator Timber and Land is a timber and land buyer working out of 1520 Highway 17 North at Palatka, and it tells landowners on its own site that it will help whether they want to sell or buy land or standing timber. Its Buy/Sell Timber page calls the firm 'a major purchaser of timber in the Northeast Florida area, purchasing over four million dollars in stumpage annually', and names the counties it primarily operates in as Putnam, Clay, St. Johns, Flagler, Volusia, Duval, Baker, Bradford, Alachua, Marion, Union and Columbia, overlapping but not identical with the sixteen Florida counties the buyer lists with the Florida Forest Service. The About page widens that to buying and selling timber and land in North Florida and South Georgia. The same Buy/Sell page states a floor twice over: the minimum acreage for purchase is 20 acres of well stocked pine timber. Cutting is contracted rather than done in house, by nine contract crews the company says have close ties to it, with site preparation and replanting of cutover land handled by contractors who have worked for the firm for many years, and the site states that all of its loggers are Master Logger certified and take annual training. The replant page says that for every tree harvested another is planted. The history is long: it began as Springside Lumber Company, a mill west of Palatka started by Kelley Smith, Sr. in 1945, became a timber dealership in 1957, was bought by Kelley Smith, Jr. in 1972, was owned by Union Camp from 1978 until Smith bought it back in 1995, and took its present name in 2003. Kelley Smith, Jr. and Stan Browning own and operate it today, and the company is a member of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. As described on gatortimber.com, read 23 September 2026.
Georgia-Pacific describes itself as a maker of building products, cellulose, packaging, recycled fibre and consumer paper goods - Quilted Northern, Brawny and Dixie among its household brands - operating more than 150 locations worldwide with over 30,000 employees, and it says it has invested $15 billion into its operations since 2014. The company dates its founding to 1927 in a single building in Augusta, Georgia, and is a Koch, Inc. company; that 1927 date belongs to the corporation, not to this Perry record. Its locations page lists Florida among nearly 30 states but does not itemise any individual Florida facility. The single mention of Perry anywhere in the pages read is on Georgia-Pacific's own history timeline, which records that in 2023 the company closed its Foley Cellulose mill in Perry, Florida; the site says nothing about what wood and fibre buying, if any, continues from the One Buckeye Drive address under which the Florida Forest Service register carries this listing, as described on gp.com, read 22 September 2026.
Greenville Timber Corporation is a timber buyer based in Madison, Florida. Its listed trade is buying timber, so it is one of the businesses a landowner can approach when they want to sell the trees on their land. The counties it serves are Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Calhoun, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hernando, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Pasco, Putnam, St. Johns, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union and Volusia. That makes thirty-six counties in all. If your woodland sits in one of these counties, Greenville Timber Corporation is a buyer worth knowing about. It suits a landowner who wants to sell timber and has land in one of the counties listed above. From genesistimber.com, read 18 October 2026.
Loncala, Inc. owns and manages roughly 23,000 acres of timber and agricultural land in north Florida, with every operation run from a headquarters built in 2007 on its ranch property at High Springs. Its about page lays out the whole arc: chartered in April 1920 as Loncala Phosphate Company, it tried turpentine, tung oil groves, building materials, cattle and crop farming before soft phosphate operations beginning in 1940 funded the land clearing and site preparation that supported a reforestation program started in 1950. Phosphate mining ceased in February 2006 after 85 years. Timber harvesting began in the early 1960s; the company says harvest from its own lands has grown from 20,000 tons a year in the early 1980s to 150,000 tons today, and the harvesting operation overall from 50,000 tons to roughly 200,000 tons. Its forestry page states that Loncala grows and harvests pine from company lands for about half the year and spends the remainder producing timber purchased from private landowners or working as a contract producer for industrial timber companies, and that it owns and harvests from Hamilton County on the Georgia line south to below Marion County in central Florida. It says it is actively seeking timberland owners interested in selling timber and will appraise standing timber at no cost, through its forester Tim Odom. Felling is done with a feller buncher, whose operator sorts to pulpwood, large and small chip-n-saw, ply logs and poles; trees are limbed through a gate, skidded to a ramp and sorted again by a log loader. The company holds the Master Logger designation, adheres to Best Management Practices, notes Florida's 1999 Outstanding Logger of the Year award and a 2000 Southeastern Region Logger of the Year title, and employs 15 to 20 full-time people across land management, farming and logging. As described on loncala.com, read 23 September 2026.
M.A. Rigoni, Inc. is a timber and land-work business based in Perry, Florida. It has operated since 1960 and is now run by the third generation of the family, with seven crews working under it. Its main focus is bio-mass forest products for renewable energy markets, carried out in a way that promotes sustainable forestry practices "for generations to come." Logging is the main trade, with land clearing or site work as another. The services listed are bio-mass production, conventional harvesting, land management, land clearing, site preparation, and reforestation. The president, Chad Schwab, holds the Trained Master Logger credential for Florida and has served on the board of the Florida Forestry Association. The counties served are Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, and Wakulla. The team also includes two staff in procurement and land management. This business suits a landowner in one of those counties who wants a logger focused on bio-mass, or who needs land cleared, prepared, or replanted. From marigoniinc.com, read 18 October 2026.
R.J. Nathe and Sons is a timber harvesting and land clearing company based in Dade City, Florida. It has been in business since 1957 and is family owned and operated. The address is 16530 Jessamine Rd, and the phone number is (352) 588-3107. The company serves landowners across Central Florida. The main work is logging, mainly pine, cypress and hardwood. They also do roller chopping, biomass chipping, custom sawmilling and land clearing. During a job, they separate saw logs from pulpwood and haul each load to different mills, and they say they can "merchandise the timber to the highest dollar value." They say they can handle harvesting jobs of all sizes, that they are fully insured, that they offer appointments, and that their phones are answered 24 hours a day. They are members of the Florida Forestry Association, the Southeastern Wood Producers Association and the Dade City Chamber of Commerce. Their counties include Pasco, Hernando, Marion, Polk, Sumter and Hillsborough, along with several others. This business suits a landowner who needs logging or clearing done and wants the timber sorted and hauled to mills. From nathemasterlogger.com, read 18 October 2026.
This Graceville entry is the timber-buying side of Rex Lumber. The Florida Forest Service vendor register lists it as a forest products buyer working in 23 Florida counties, under the subcategories upland timber and wetland timber. Rex Lumber's own site does not use the name Rex Lumber Co. for a separate buying company; it puts procurement under Woodlands Timber, which the site lists among the operations based at Graceville alongside the mill, the corporate office and Rex Transportation. The Woodlands Timber page names a Graceville procurement manager, a senior procurement forester and a procurement forester, and the two cell numbers it publishes for the first two of those match the phone numbers carried in this listing; the mailing address here, P.O. Box 7, is the same box the site gives for the Graceville mill. The company describes itself as a fourth-generation, family-owned lumber manufacturer established in the 1920s - its history page says W. D. McRae founded Rex Lumber Company in Graceville in 1926 - operating four mills in Florida, Mississippi and Alabama, with the Graceville site bought back by the family at a bankruptcy auction in 2001 and running again from March 2003. The site states that the McRae family also owns Apalachee Pole Company, Woodlands Timber, Rex Transportation and over 16,000 acres of timber land in Florida, Alabama and Georgia, and that the mills turn harvested timber into southern yellow pine lumber. Nothing on the site sets out a minimum tract size, a payment basis or the terms on which timber is bought, so a landowner would have to ask. As described on rex-lumber.com, read 23 September 2026.
Treecycle Land Clearing Inc. is a land clearing and site work firm in Lake Worth, Florida, with its office at 5019 80th Terrace South. It was established in 2005 and says it carries more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. The business describes itself as family owned and operated. Its work covers clearing and grubbing, forestry mulching, tree removal, cutting in place, Fecon mowing, erosion control, silt fence and turbidity barrier installation, tree protection, grapple services, and hauling. It also does hurricane debris clean up under continuous contracts with multiple cities and organizations. Its stated projects range from small tree removal to golf courses, airports, highways, subdivisions, and landfills. Counties it lists include Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, Martin, and St. Lucie, with work across Florida and South Florida. Before any clearing starts, it sets tree protection for Florida native and other protected vegetation as each project specifies. The smallest job it names is one acre. It says it is "prepared to take care of your needs" from 1 acre to 1,000 acres. Its tagline is "Preserving the best and Recycling the rest." It offers free estimates for Florida land clearing. Its equipment includes grinders, feller bunchers, excavators, skidders, and a 65 yard grapple truck with a 70 yard trailer. A disposal site in Palm City takes clean vegetation, concrete, and tile. It suits a landowner who wants ground cleared or trees removed, with the material hauled off and recycled. From treecycleinc.com, read 18 October 2026.
Wood Mulch Products, Inc. is a mulch and animal bedding maker in Lakeland, Florida. It was founded in 1991 to manufacture and distribute animal litter and soil amendment materials. It runs an 18 acre manufacturing facility in Lakeland, between Orlando and Tampa, and produces more than 20 different products. Its shavings are made from "100% virgin pine logs." The logs are debarked, dried and screened at the shaving mills, then tested and bagged. The business does not accept by-products from wood processing facilities. Its line includes premium mulch, playground mulch, organic mulch, pine bark and horse bedding. The horse bedding is kiln dried, triple screened and 100% pine. Products ship throughout the state of Florida, and the business supplies theme parks, public schools, parks, municipalities and landscape contractors. Its work is making mulch and bedding, not buying standing timber, logging or forestry, so it suits a landowner who wants a manufacturer for mulch or bedding rather than a timber sale. From woodmulchproducts.com, read 18 October 2026.
Boatright Timber Services, Inc. is a timber buying and logging business based in Tallahassee, Florida. It works with private landowners and property managers to assess, harvest, and market timber. Alan Boatright founded the business in 1983, and it has served North Florida and South Georgia for more than 40 years. Drew Miller and Brad Oglesby bought it in 2024. Logging is its main trade. The work includes pine and hardwood logging, clear and select cuts, and timber cruising and valuation. The species named are longleaf and slash pine stands and oak, hickory and cherry blends. It also does sawmilling, with a $125 minimum per order and a price of $.60 per board foot. Other work includes reforestation, forestry consulting, forestry mulching, custom land clearing, and firewood. The counties it names as served are Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Calhoun, Citrus, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, and Wakulla. It describes its process as cutting with precision, protecting your soil, and communicating every step. A sale runs from assessing the timber to harvesting and marketing it. It suits a landowner in one of those counties who wants one outfit to cut, mill, and replant. From boatrighttimber.com, read 18 October 2026.
Southern Artificial Tree Supply, Inc. is a family owned and operated business in Deland, Florida, at 32827 SR 44. It has supplied natural wood products since 1997. Its customers are makers, and the work it describes is selling wood, not buying standing timber or logging. It handles Dragonwood, myrtle wood, and bamboo, among other woods. Its products go into the construction of silk trees, and it also supplies the pet bird trade with perches and bird toys in a variety of sizes. Each customer's designs differ, so the team works closely with each one on the details of their project. Shipping is worldwide. Its listed Florida counties are Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Citrus, Lake, Marion, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia. The office number is 386-804-3194. This suits a maker of silk trees or pet bird toys who needs natural wood, not a landowner looking to sell or log a stand of timber. From bogusbranches.com, read 18 October 2026.
Spanish Trail Lumber describes itself as a full scale softwood mill, located on Old Spanish Trail at Marianna in Jackson County, and says the Florida panhandle position gives it an advantage in shipping anywhere in the south and central United States. The company states a capacity to manufacture over 135 million board feet a year of Southern Yellow Pine and specializes in PET stud lengths of 92 5/8, 104 5/8 and 116 5/8 inches in both 2x4 and 2x6, with custom PET lengths available in truck load quantities. It produces SPIB #2 Prime, #1, #2, #3 and #4 finished lumber in 6 foot through 12 foot lengths, dries all of it in one of two double track 81 foot kilns to below 19 percent moisture content, and offers both flatbed trucking and direct rail shipments from the mill. Packs are bagged in 3.5 ounce polypropylene, with 2x4 in 208 piece packs and 2x6 in 128 or 64 piece half packs. The site publishes nothing about buying logs or standing timber. As described on spanishtraillumber.com, read 23 September 2026.
Boyett Timber, Inc. is a mulch manufacturer in Webster, Florida. It makes bulk mulch for homeowners, landscape contractors, HOAs, schools, parks and municipalities, and it offers pickup and delivery throughout Central Florida. Hernando County is among the counties it serves. The Boyett family has been part of Central Florida's timber industry for nearly 100 years. The company has since moved on: it has "shifted its focus exclusively to manufacturing premium mulch products" and no longer harvests timber itself. It does not buy standing timber or run timber sales, so a landowner looking to sell a stand of trees will need to look elsewhere. The mulch is made from 100% virgin pine and from hardwood trees. The range includes IPEMA Certified Engineered Wood Fiber playground mulch, plus pine blend, red, cocoa, black and hardwood mulch. The business also sells clean, untreated ground sawmill wood in large bulk quantities to manufacturers and other industrial buyers. It offers a facility tour, a mulch consultation and a landscape design consult at its Webster location. Boyett Timber suits a landowner who wants bulk mulch or playground material made from pine or hardwood, not someone who wants to sell timber. From boyetttimbermulch.com, read 18 October 2026.
USA Mulch manufactures and installs premium mulch throughout the state of Florida from what it calls a state of the art manufacturing facility in Fort Myers, on Gator Road in Lee County. The company describes handling the whole job in house, listing harvesting, grinding, bagging, coloring and installation as its own steps, and says it has been in business for over 30 years. Its wholesale mulch is sold bagged and in bulk in cypress, pine, pine bark nuggets, pine bark mini nuggets, red, gold, premium brown and playground grades. Installation is described as work for commercial properties, and the company publishes application guidance of roughly four inches for new mulch and three inches when remulching, along with a calculator for working out quantities. Coverage is described as Southwest Florida and locations across the state, with no counties named, and the site says nothing about buying standing timber or logs from landowners. As described on usamulchllc.com, read 23 September 2026.
An oriented strand board mill, by the Southern Group of State Foresters' Primary Forest Products Network register, at 12995 NE State Road 65 in Hosford, buying softwood, with Liberty County as its home county. The same address carries a second Georgia-Pacific entry in Florida's records — a Wood & Fiber Supply buying office listed with the Florida Forest Service — so the procurement desk and the mill share a road. Georgia-Pacific's own website does not describe either: gp.com has no Hosford page, and its locations section is only a state-by-state selector that names Florida without naming a facility in it. The site does describe the company. Georgia-Pacific says it was founded in 1927 in Augusta, Georgia, as the Georgia Hardwood Lumber Company, a hardwood lumber wholesaler running five sawmills in the South, became Georgia-Pacific Corporation in 1956, moved its headquarters to Atlanta in 1982, and was acquired by Koch in 2005 to become a privately held, wholly owned subsidiary; it now states more than 30,000 employees, more than 150 locations worldwide and $15 billion invested into its operations since 2014. Building products is one of its seven stated businesses, and the strand board side shows up twice in the company's own timeline: it says it completed the purchase of oriented strand board facilities from Grant Forest Products in 2010, and opened a new OSB facility in Clarendon County, South Carolina, in 2013 with 130 local jobs. On stewardship it says it works to maximise recycling, reduce energy use and set the standard in sustainable forestry. No log specifications, delivery terms or buying contact for Hosford appear anywhere on the pages read. As described on gp.com, read 23 September 2026.
The Southern Group of State Foresters' Primary Forest Products Network register lists this as a pulp and paper mill at 160 County Road 216 in Palatka, taking softwood, with Putnam County as its home county. What the company publishes about itself is corporate rather than local: gp.com carries no page for the Palatka mill, and its locations page offers only a state-by-state selector — Florida is on the list, but the site names no facility inside it. What the site does say is about the owner. Georgia-Pacific dates itself to 1927, when it was founded in Augusta, Georgia, as the Georgia Hardwood Lumber Company, a hardwood lumber wholesaler operating five sawmills in the South; it took the Georgia-Pacific Corporation name in 1956 and moved its headquarters from Portland, Oregon, to Atlanta in 1982. Koch acquired the company in 2005, and the site states plainly that Georgia-Pacific is a Koch, Inc. company, privately held and wholly owned. It counts more than 30,000 employees, more than 150 locations worldwide, locations in nearly 30 states and $15 billion invested into its operations since 2014, and it groups its business into building products, cellulose, consumer products, GP PRO, packaging, pine solutions and recycling — the cellulose line being the one a pulp mill such as this sits within. On stewardship the company says it works to maximise recycling, reduce energy use and set the standard in sustainable forestry, and its history page notes a 2009 Sustainable Forestry Initiative President's Award. Only one Florida item appears anywhere in that history: the company says it closed its Foley Cellulose mill in Perry in 2023, a different site from this one. Great South Timber & Lumber, LLC runs two operations in Lake City: a corporate and procurement office at 517 SE Baya Drive, and a sawmill at 1135 FL-100, which is the address carried on this listing. Its about text says the company has been in the wood products business since 1985, with a procurement division that purchases and harvests southern yellow pine timber and a sawmill that manufactures southern yellow pine lumber. The professional staff within the procurement division, the site says, purchases and harvests southern yellow pine for the lumber, pulp and paper industries in the north Florida area; three foresters, Austin Thrasher, Charles S. Corbett and Chase Clark, are listed under procurement alongside procurement manager J. Russ Hannon, which is the group a landowner with pine to sell would be dealing with. The sawmill side supplies the roof truss, wood treating and pallet manufacturing industries, with a focus on dimension machine stress rated (MSR) 2x4; the company says it also produces 1x4, 2x6 and 4x4 products. Robert P. Cook is named president and Robert P. The Florida Woodsmith is a sawmill service for Gainesville and the surrounding area in North-Central Florida, in Alachua County. The owner says the work is primarily sawmilling: "I can come to your property and collect that log" and return it as lumber cut to your specifications. Species listed include ash, black oak, cherry, hickory, maple, pecan, cedar, cypress, poplar, pine and oak. Milling costs as little as $1.25 per linear foot, and logs yielding under 40 linear feet carry a $50 minimum. Logs need to be at least 10 inches across at the smaller end and cut to lengths between 6 and 12 feet, with about 6 extra inches for end checking. Seal the cut ends right away, or have the owner do it for $2 per end. If you bring the log to the mill yourself, you can pick up the green lumber, sticker it and dry it, and the price is lower. The business also buys logs from tree services and land clearing, priced by the ton or by the load, with the price negotiable. Slab flattening, trimming and edging, joining slabs and epoxy work are also offered. Shop services are temporarily unavailable after a workshop fire in June 2025, while the owner looks for a property to move the sawmill to. The owner has 20 years of woodworking in the Gainesville area. It is a one-person business that sometimes works offsite, so some days may not be available. This suits a landowner with a few felled or cleared trees near Gainesville who wants lumber cut to their own dimensions and is willing to dry it themselves. Hatchers Timber is a timber buyer and logging outfit based in Middleburg, Florida. Randy Hatcher owns and runs it with his son Boone. They buy standing timber throughout Northeast Florida, in Clay, Duval, Alachua, Putnam, Baker, St. Johns, Bradford, Union, Flagler, and Nassau counties. Their sellers include private landowners, developers, and forestry consultants. They start by cruising your timber, looking at boundary lines, stand density, age and type of timber, and road access. After that they submit a bid. If it's accepted, you get a written contract and a logging plan that shows where cutting starts and where the loading ramp goes. They do their own harvesting and offer clearcut and thinning work. Products include chip n saw, pulpwood, saw timber, and poles. Hardwood and cypress are taken only when a mill will buy them. They follow best management practices, and debris can be piled or scattered, as you prefer. Every load that leaves the ramp is recorded on a load sheet, and you get a copy at the end of each week. Randy is a third generation logger, and he and Boone are both Florida Master Loggers. You deal directly with the logger, with "no middleman," and they say they want you to think of them "when it grows back." This suits landowners in those ten counties who want a written plan and who would rather talk straight to the people cutting their trees. From hatcherstimber.com, read 18 October 2026.

Questions landowners ask
How many timber buyers are there in Florida?
111 are listed on TimberClear, sourced from the Florida Forest Service forest products and services directory, covering consulting foresters and forest products buyers, together with the Forest Products Network mill directory, covering 67 counties between them.
How do I choose between them?
Start local and get more than one. A business based in your county knows the mills and the ground; one registered for all one hundred counties may be three hours away. Every listing here shows how far its office is from the county you are looking at, so "will travel" is never mistaken for "is local". TimberClear has not vetted, verified or endorsed anybody on this site.
