Sky Valley Sawmill & Kiln
About Sky Valley Sawmill & Kiln
Sky Valley Sawmill & Kiln is a sawmill in Bluffton, Indiana, serving Wells County. It takes logs or lumber and mills any species, any size, up to 30 feet long and up to 7 feet 2 inches in diameter. Work can come back live edge, kiln-dried or raw, and the custom shop turns out mantles, shelving, tables, bookshelves, barn doors, beams and gables, charcuterie boards, and picnic tables. Pricing runs by the board foot, with bulk discounts and pickup and delivery available. The mill itself goes back to 1886, built by Sinker-Davis in Indiana and settled in Amish country since 1974 under its current sawyer, Allen "Swamp" Harris, a master carpenter and general contractor who has run C.A. Harris Construction since 1999. The business is veteran-owned. No minimum size job is shown; the smallest work shown is not for sale, so there's no small lot floor to point to here, just a mill set up to handle any size that comes in. This fits a landowner near Bluffton who wants logs turned into finished lumber or custom woodwork, not one looking for standing timber purchased or logged off the land.
