Green Valley Wood Products

About Green Valley Wood Products

Green Valley Wood Products is a sawmill west of Brazil, Indiana, in Clay County. It's "a locally owned and operated sawmill," and alongside milling it also takes on logging work and wood shop services for people nearby. If you've got standing timber to sell, this is one of the outfits that will come look at it, in west central Indiana. Beyond buying and logging timber, they do log sawing (bring them logs and they'll saw them into lumber), kiln drying of green or air-dried lumber, and wood shop services like planing and sanding. Their own stock gives a sense of what passes through the mill: black walnut, red oak, osage orange, and a run of domestic hardwoods and exotics like Bolivian rosewood and red canarywood, much of it cut for turners, cabinetmakers, and other hobbyist woodworkers. They say "we specialize in lumber for the hobbyist" and will "custom-cut wood to your specifications." This fits a landowner in west central Indiana who wants to deal with a small, local mill that also logs timber and can custom-cut what comes off the land, rather than a large regional buyer.
