Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods

About Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods

Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods is a sawmill in Lafayette, Indiana, serving Tippecanoe County. They work with logs brought to them or they bring a portable sawmill to you, and they also keep kiln-dried lumber on hand along with live edge slabs, millwork, and custom furniture. Species they handle include walnut, ash, red oak, cherry, hard maple, white oak, hickory, poplar, hackberry, and cedar. Their shop can dimension lumber S4S up to 14 feet long and 20 inches wide, flatten slabs and table tops up to 56 inches wide and 13 feet long, and run four-sided molding for trim, tongue and groove, and flooring. For logs, you can set up an appointment for custom milling at their shop, or they will travel to you with the portable mill. The business is "a ministry of Faith Church," started in 2016, and the sawmill side has run since 2017 as a way to give men in their recovery program a second chance through learning a trade. One customer described having a family tree milled into furniture, calling the business a "one-stop-shop" for that job. This fits a landowner near Lafayette with logs or standing timber who wants lumber sawn, dried, or turned into furniture, and who doesn't mind that the work supports a residential addiction recovery program.
