About Davison HQS

Davison HQS is a hardwood log dealership in Spencer, Indiana. They buy quality hardwood logs from the heartland of Indiana, and they also keep lumber on hand in both kiln dried and air dried stock. If you've got walnut or maple on your land, this is the kind of outfit that would be interested in the logs themselves, not standing timber sales or harvest jobs. They describe their work as "buying quality hardwood logs from heartland of Indiana using bmp friendly practices and providing producers with these logs for manufacturing." On the lumber side, they carry walnut crotches and live edge lumber for indoor and outdoor use. Joseph Davison, Jr. is a licensed Indiana timber buyer and is involved in buying both road logs and yard logs, as well as selling yard logs. Melvin Frey joined the business in 2013 and became owner in 2021. They're set up in Owen County and work out of their yard on E Franklin St in Spencer, with regular office hours Monday through Friday. There's no minimum tract size stated, so this looks like a fit for a landowner who already has logs cut, or walnut and maple timber in mind, and wants a buyer who deals directly in those species rather than a full logging or consulting operation.
