About Sulphur Lumber

Sulphur Lumber, based in Yorktown, Indiana, is a sawmill and building supply operation. It sells lumber packs, Andersen windows and doors, Therma-Tru entry and exterior doors, trim, trusses, and metal roofs and siding to builders, contractors, remodelers, and homeowners. It does not buy standing timber or do logging work, so it isn't the place to call if you want someone to walk your woods and make an offer on your trees. The company traces back to 1936, when it was founded by the McShirley family, and it now operates from Yorktown. Trusses are "manufactured on site to your specifications," and the yard offers machine stress rated lumber for jobs that need it. It serves Delaware, Henry, Randolph, Jay, Wayne, Madison, Hancock, Hamilton, Blackford, Grant, and Marion counties, with jobsite drops placed around the foundation to help framing crews work more easily. This fits a landowner who is building or remodeling and needs lumber, windows, doors, or trusses supplied to the site, not someone looking to sell timber off their acreage.
