Bear Hill Sawmill & Millwork

About Bear Hill Sawmill & Millwork

Bear Hill Sawmill & Millwork is a family owned sawmill in Belchertown, Massachusetts. They've been in business 18 years and work mostly with Eastern White Pine and Hard Pine. If you have your own logs and want them sawn into lumber, this is the kind of place for that. Right now they offer custom sawing for customers who want their own logs cut, and they say they "specialize in locally sourced lumber." They also keep a retail inventory of cut lumber on hand, including pine boards and some hard pine flooring, if you'd rather buy than sell. Kiln drying isn't available yet, but they mention hoping to add it. They serve Hampshire County. There's no stated minimum acreage or log amount for custom sawing work. This fits a landowner with a modest pile of logs, maybe from clearing a lot or a few blown-down trees, who wants them sawn into usable boards rather than sold off as standing timber. It's a small, local operation, not a large-scale timber buyer. From bearhillsawmillandmillwork.com, read 8 October 2026.
