About Tom Sawyer Sawmill
Tom Sawyer Sawmill is a woodworking business in Baldwin, Michigan, at 9744 S M37 in Lake County. It takes on custom woodworking projects for homes and businesses, including live-edge pieces sold as BIGFOOT TABLE-TOPS. Dining tables, desks, countertops and bar tops can be sized and edged to fit the buyer's space. Each slab is picked for its natural character, kiln-dried to keep its strength, and hand-finished with pure beeswax. The shop works on the idea that "we let the wood guide us," so no two tops are alike. Pieces are handcrafted in small batches from hardwoods the business calls sustainably sourced. It says its live-edge pieces are harvested from the Manistee Forest. The beeswax finish has no synthetic varnishes or chemicals, which the shop says makes the pieces safe for homes with children, pets, or anyone sensitive to fumes. It suits a homeowner or business owner who wants a one-of-a-kind live-edge table made by hand, not a landowner looking to sell standing timber or logs. From tomsawyersawmill.art, read 8 October 2026.
