Tri-County Logging
About Tri-County Logging
Tri-County Logging is a logging contractor out of Clinton, Michigan. They buy standing timber from landowners and run their own harvests, and the wood they cut goes to HMI Lumber, the sawmill that Tri-County is part of. They've been at it since 1972. They take on timber harvesting, timber buying, and forestry management plans, working in ash, cherry, hard maple, hickory, poplar, red oak, soft maple, walnut, basswood, black oak, and white oak. Their timber buyers work different parts of Michigan, and the company serves Lenawee County among others, plus landowners across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. Their staff have gone through Sustainable Forestry Initiative classes, and the company describes itself as "experienced in industry best management practices." If you're not sure your woodlot is ready, they walk you through it before anything is signed, explaining the plan for your land whether you want to harvest again down the road, improve hunting ground, or just open up the canopy for new growth. Ten acres is their line: their own contact page asks "Do you have ten or more acres of woodlot that you need harvested?" as the way they describe who they work with. This fits a landowner with a decent-sized woodlot, somewhere north of ten acres, who wants a company that also runs its own mill and will talk through the harvest plan with you first rather than just showing up with saws.
