About Northern Timber Sawmill Service
Northern Timber Sawmill Service is a portable sawmill operation based in Le Roy, Michigan. They bring the mill to you and cut your logs into lumber right on your property. The work covers milling for best grade, dimensional lumber, quarter sawing, slabs, heavy timbers, and cabin logs cut two or three sided. They match certain blades to the species being cut. Parker, who runs the mill, is a certified lumber grader through the National Hardwood Lumber Association, and he runs a Woodmizer mill that handles logs up to 30 inches across. They are based out of LeRoy but say they "travel all over the state" of Michigan, and they serve Osceola County. All you need to have ready is a flat space to pull the mill into and a way to get your logs to it, either by tractor or by rolling them over. This suits a landowner who already has logs on the ground, or standing timber they plan to fell themselves, and wants it turned into usable boards, slabs, or cabin logs on site rather than sold off as standing timber.
