Hansen Lumber Co. Inc is a sawmill in Santa Fe, New Mexico, running since 1927. It is family owned and operated, now in its fourth generation, and still uses a circle saw to cut lumber and timbers. The mill cuts "all of our timbers and lumber from local grown New Mexico trees," working in Ponderosa Pine, Engelmann Spruce, Douglas Fir, White (concolor) Fir, and Aspen and Cedar when available. Products include rough cut timber and lumber, vigas, corbels, slabs, firewood, and sawdust. Timbers and lumber come in standard sawn sizes, with custom lengths and dimensions cut at extra cost. Hansen Lumber gets its log supply by contracting out logging work to local logging companies rather than running its own harvesting crews. It serves Santa Fe county and describes its area as northern New Mexico, going back to the days when many small saw mills operated across that part of the state before settling into its current West Alameda Street location. This is a mill and lumber yard, not a timber buyer or timber sale broker, so it fits a landowner who already has logs coming out of the woods, or who wants locally cut rough timber, vigas, corbels, slabs or firewood for a building project, rather than someone looking for help selling standing timber off their acreage.
