Registration 275 is the seventh oldest of the 178 on the N.C. Forest Service register — very few names on that list have been there longer. The territory is the northwestern piedmont: Forsyth, Guilford, Davidson and Rowan, up through the Yadkin Valley counties to Stokes, Surry and the Virginia line. Nine services, and it reads as a working forester's list rather than a full-service consultancy — management plans, reforestation, stand improvement, insect and fire protection, prescribed burning, and the appraisal, cruise and sale administration a sale runs on.
