About Responsible Timber LLC
Responsible Timber LLC is a sawmill business based in Lebanon, Tennessee, run by a sawyer named Jason. It brings a portable sawmill right to your property and mills your logs on-site, rather than you hauling them off to someone else's yard. It also does small-scale tractor work, serving Wilson County. The main work is milling yellow pine, cherry, and black walnut into custom lumber: mantels, live edge slabs, posts, beams, and rough saw boards. Jason also handles slabbing and storm damage preparation, taking down trees and turning fallen logs into something useful instead of firewood or a burn pile. He describes the work as "transforming timber dreams into reality," milling with "custom cuts that suit your unique projects." Alongside the milling, he offers small-scale tractor services like gravel spreading, driveway repair, and light excavation for homeowners and small farms. There is no stated minimum acreage for the milling side of things. On the tractor side, the smallest job named is "small plot bush hogging and path clearing," for 1 to 5 acres, so plots as small as 1 acre can get that kind of work done. This fits a landowner with a downed tree, a storm-damaged lot, or a small property who wants the wood turned into lumber on-site rather than hauled away, and who might also need some light tractor work done at the same time.
