A banner on every page reads “Proudly Serving North Texas Since 1981,” and the About page gives the origin: “A.E.S Custom Wood, was founded in 1981 by Arvil E Smallwood,” who obtained “facilities in Grand Prairie, TX and setting up shop” and “began producing Fireplace mantels after contracting with a local new home builder.” That remains the core of the work — “offering DFW area new homes quality Fireplace Mantels” — and the page says the range has widened since: “we now offer everything from fireplace mantels, outdoor pergolas, custom cabinets and cutting boards.” It states that “over the 35+ years our company remains a family owned and operated business,” a figure that has not been brought up to date against the 1981 founding given on the same page. The page closes, “If you can dream it, we can build it.” Enquiries go to a single office line, (972) 262-0755, through a short contact form, with a gallery as the only other section. The pages read are brief. They say nothing about the species or sourcing of the wood used, nothing about lead times, pricing or how a job is quoted, and name no certification, grading body or trade membership.
