About Steely Lumber Co., Inc.
Steely Lumber Co., Inc. is a sawmill in Huntsville, Texas, that produces Southern Yellow Pine lumber. It is an independent, family owned business, and the mill sits at 1405 Southwood Drive. The county it serves is Walker. The mill sells solid sawn pine lumber in 5/4 and 1 inch high grade products, 2 inch dimension products, and 4 inch timber products. It also uses what it cuts. Bark and wood chips feed a pine mulch facility, and the company makes pine biomass pellets. The business says it aims to "utilize every portion of our renewable resource." Its listed species are Southern Yellow Pine, gum, hickory/pecan, and mixed hardwoods, along with hardwood and softwood in general. The company holds Tree Farm certification, American Tree Farm certification, and EN+ certification. Its land holdings sit with Voyager Group, Ltd., which specializes in forest management and land acquisitions. The business describes itself as "Most of all, environmentally-conscious and conservation and restoration focused," and says it works to become one of the most efficient mills in the South. This suits a landowner with pine who wants to deal with a family-owned mill in Huntsville that has its own forest and land arm and a strong focus on conservation, and who would want to ask the mill directly what it buys from neighbors.
