About West Fraser Timber Co.

The website recorded for this listing, norbord.com, no longer serves a Norbord site; the crawl that followed it landed on westfraser.com, the corporate site of West Fraser Timber Co. The pages read are company-wide material and say nothing at all about the Jefferson, Texas mill in this record. The history page explains the connection between the two names: “West Fraser went global in 2021 when it acquired Norbord—the world’s largest OSB producer—and gained a footprint with 14 OSB mills, an MDF mill, and two particle board mills located in the U.K. and Europe.” It adds that Norbord “had a well-earned reputation for cost and margin performance, and for expanding the use of OSB in new applications and industries,” and that the deal made West Fraser “a top global producer of both lumber and OSB.” The company describes itself as “one of the world’s largest producers of renewable wood building products, with more than 50 facilities in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe,” and says it is “committed to responsible product sourcing and harvesting practices, backed by globally recognized forest certifications” — though the pages read name no certification scheme. Its earlier move into the U.S. South is described as “acquiring 13 mills located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas and Texas” in 2007. The company trades on the Toronto and New York exchanges under WFG, and its values page sets out safety, integrity, frugality, competitiveness, fun, teamwork, humility and trust, stating that “all accidents are preventable.” None of this reaches the Jefferson operation: the pages give no local address, phone, capacity, employment, log purchasing terms or minimum tract size, and a landowner would learn nothing here about selling timber to this mill. As described on westfraser.com, read 23 September 2026.
