About Texarome, Inc.
Texarome, at 1585 East Ranch Road 337 in Leakey, Texas, distills and refines pure and natural essential oils, with Texas cedarwood oil at the center of its business. The company says it was "founded in 1982 by Gueric and Victor Boucard in an effort to carry on the family tradition of Essential Oil distillation that goes back to the 40's," and that it has since grown into "a multinational organization with key internal partnerships and production units that includes six separate distillation facilities, as well as three rectification units, and four major products," drawing on three generations of expertise and proprietary distillation technology. Texas cedarwood oil is called its flagship product, made from raw material sourced within 60 to 100 miles of the Texas facility, of which it says it processes "over 50 tons per day" before rectifying and packaging for shipment worldwide. It also produces Virginiana cedarwood oil, working with loggers and ranchers to use byproducts of the logging industry that "would often been thrown away or burned," with that material delivered from over 200 miles away; amyris oil distilled at its facility in the Baharuco Forest region of the Dominican Republic from dead, dry amyris wood gathered by farmers and collectors, then shipped to Texas for processing and quality control; and Haitian vetiver oil, tied to Victor Boucard Sr.'s pioneering of vetiver plantations in Haiti in the 1940s with partner Louis Dejois. The company states it is "the only Texas distillery with the refining facilities to redistill and blend Cedarwood oils and other essential oils according to the customer's exact specifications," and that its quality control laboratory uses a gas chromatographic apparatus to guarantee consistent composition. Listed services also include consulting, toll distillation and plant design and construction. As described on texarome.com, read 23 September 2026.
