Humphrey Sawmill

About Humphrey Sawmill

Humphrey Sawmill is a sawmill in Southside, Alabama, at 2690 Fowlers Ferry Rd S. It is a "locally-owned and operated family business," opened in May 2023 by Kevin Humphrey and his family, who also run Kevin's Tree Service in Gadsden. The mill takes raw-cut logs and turns them into custom milled lumber, dimensioned lumber, custom wood planks and live edge wood slabs. It produces boards, planks, beams and veneer. The process is to remove the bark, square the log, and cut it to the lengths you want. The mill can handle a log up to 36 inches in diameter, up to 4,400 pounds and up to 21 feet long, and it cuts up to 550 board feet an hour. The owners say they use sustainable practices. The business serves Etowah County and describes its area as greater Alabama. It is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. The phone number is (256) 312-1764. It suits a landowner who already has logs cut and wants them milled into lumber, planks or slabs for building, furniture or other uses. From sawmillgadsden.com, read 17 October 2026.
