About Michigan Rustic Woodlands
Michigan Rustic Woodlands is a sawmill, lumber yard, and woodshop in Davisburg, Michigan. They started the business in 2021 and describe themselves as a family-owned and operated outfit, with their own team milling everything in-house. If you've got logs sitting on your property, this is who you'd call to turn them into something usable. They say "we can mill your logs into whatever Lumber or Live Edge wood products you desire," and they also offer kiln drying so the wood is ready to work with, not just cut. Pickup and delivery of logs or lumber is available for an added fee, based on volume and location, and they bring a log trailer with a crane to move heavier logs onto the mill. Before milling, they "powerwash each log before it goes on our mill" to keep dirt and grit from dulling the blade. Species they handle include walnut, soft and hard maple, curly maple, white oak, red oak, hickory, cedar, elm, cherry, and poplar. They're licensed and insured, and they serve Oakland County and the surrounding area. Alongside milling, they also do woodworking and some land clearing or site work. This fits a landowner who already has logs down, or trees coming down, and wants them milled into lumber or slabs rather than sold standing. It's less suited to someone looking to sell timber off the stump, more for someone who wants their own wood turned into boards, mantels, or furniture.
