About Tar River Timber Co., Inc.
Tar River Timber Co., Inc. is in Red Oak, North Carolina. Its address is 114 Southgate Drive in Oxford, where it trades as Tar River Timber Works. The timber division was acquired in the summer of 2022 from Southern Woodcraft and Design. The business makes timber accents, frames, pergolas, pavilions, arbors and trellises for architects, designers, builders and owners. The work is in western red cedar, plantation teak and Douglas fir. It sources custom cut timbers from sustainably managed forests, air dries them, and cuts them with traditional tools plus CAD and CNC technology. Its timber packages go to the job site with every piece labeled and "ready to install," along with instructions. Counties it serves are Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Johnston, Nash, Northampton, Vance, Wake, Warren and Wilson. It does not offer timber sales, stumpage or logging. It suits a landowner who wants timber accents or an outdoor structure built for a property, not one who needs a buyer for standing trees. From tarriver.com, read 10 October 2026.
